Winter activities in the Hochkönig region

In the cold winter months, winter sports reign in the resort of Maria Alm. No wonder, with the possibilities in the Hochkönig region simply no wishes remain open. This is one of the reasons why the international FIS national ski teams like to train in Maria Alm.

The Hochkönig winter kingdom offers 120 continuous kilometers of pistes with perfectly groomed down- hill runs, 30 km of cross-country ski trails, illuminated toboggan runs and curling rinks, as well as numerous romantic winter hiking trails. The absolute highlight of the winter is the Königstour, which, with its 32 kilo-meters of slopes and 6,700 meters of elevation gain, has been named the most beautiful ski circuit in the Alps. Maria Alm is the ideal entry point to the Königstour.
